A few facts about us

  • Eastway care is an independent service for people with learning and physical disabilities and in some cases more complex needs.

  • We have been operating since June 1998.

  • We started off with 3 employees and 4 service users.

  • We now have 60 employees and 90 service users.

  • We provide our services from 4 different bases.

We also aim to empower all our clients via support, training and regular choices.

Eastway care also aim to properly meet all our clients' individual needs by making thorough assessments, ensuring comfortable transition periods, and basing all services on sound Principles, Policies and Procedures.

Our Principles

We try to apply the following considerations to every aspect of client care:

  1. To make sure people have privacy and that confidentiality with regard to people's affairs is maintained at all times.

  2. That people are treated respectfully so that their dignity is maintained.

  3. To enable everybody to maximise their potential for independence within the service, and prepare people for further independence wherever appropriate.

  4. To offer opportunities for choice and the expression of preferences on an ongoing basis.

  5. To recognise people's rights as citizens, with particular reference to community access.

  6. To apply realistic Aims and Objectives to every Care Plan enabling fulfilment.

  7. To accept expression as a means of communication.

  8. To ensure integration and inclusion for everybody in the service and the community.

  9. To offer safe, comfortable and stimulating environments for all of our users.

  10. To develop our own resources to meet everybody's needs as much as possible.

  11. To promote good health for everybody via education and the provision of nourishing foods, opportunities for exercise and appropriate health care support, including the administration of prescribed medication.

  12. To provide a service which is sensitive and responsive to different lifestyles, embracing a variety of cultures, religions, backgrounds and circumstances.
